There are hundreds of detox programs on the market that are promoted by dietitians and celebrities these days. You can find these on the internet, television, and fliers in your mail almost every day.

All of the programs tell about how the human body is exposed to harmful factors in processed foods, food additives, air and water pollution, pesticides, chemical medications, and toxins. Reports say that all this constant and repeated exposure has weakened our bodies and denied our bodies the ability to naturally heal themselves and achieve good health.

Reports say that in this weakened condition our bodies are more susceptible to disease and infection. This has become costly on the average person with rising health care costs and companies lowering health benefits. This is something that most people can not afford.

The latest health craze is doing a detox cleansing on your body to adjust everything back into alignment or back into equilibrium. There are many different options on going about this, but the important thing to do is research and find out what program is best for you and your lifestyle.

Consulting your doctor is always recommended and suggested for any kind of detox program. There is a reason that they say to consult your doctor before starting any program. He or she can advise you on the risks involved in the program or programs that you wish to pursue. They can also recommend which program to use based on your medical history.

There are repots that say that 90% of us are not properly hydrated and that the symptoms of dehydration are slight and can go unnoticed over time. Dehydration is a serious condition that can be life threatening if left untreated. We have all seen or head stories about athletes who die from dehydration.

By maintaining proper hydration, water more readily eliminates the toxins in the human body by flushing out the toxins. Proper hydration is drinking the recommended eight to ten glasses of water a day. Sometimes more depending on your exercise level for that day.
